Dwight Murray, for decades one of the District’s premier trial attorneys, credits his career path in large measure to his decision to join the Marine Corps. In his oral history, he explains that after his tour of duty in Vietnam and his service at Marine headquarters in Quantico, and upon graduation from Georgetown Law, he clerked for Superior Court Judge Tim Murphy, a former Marine – and then joined Carr, Jordan, Coyne & Savits, a litigation law firm infused with former Marines. Murray’s oral history is summarized by Washington attorney Gene Granof.
