Harold Montelle Stephens

Judge, U. S. Court of Appeals for District of Columbia Circuit. Nominated by Franklin D. Roosevelt on July 23, 1935, to a seat vacated by William Hitz; Confirmed by the Senate on July 24, 1935, and received commission on July 27, 1935. Nominated by Harry S. Truman to be Chief Judge of the Court in 1948; served as Chief Judge until 1955. Service terminated on May 28, 1955, due to death.
