Stanley Sporkin was a director of enforcement for the Securities and Exchange Commission, general counsel for the Central Intelligence Agency and United States federal judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. His 40-year federal judicial career at times attracted both derision and admiration for his perceived judicial activism.

Associate Judge John Fisher of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals has handled many significant prosecutions, including Dan Rostenkowski and Jonathan Pollard. When he was Chief Judge, he stressed the idea of "preventive appellate advocacy" - appellate lawyers advising trial lawyers to avoid issues on appeal.

Sally-Ann Determan joined Hogan & Hartson in 1960 and became the firm's first female partner. She served as President of the D.C. Bar and received the National Legal Aid and Defender Association Exemplar Award for outstanding leadership in promoting and supporting equal justice.
